The diploma in Accounting is very popular among Malaysian students as well as International students. Due to high demand, the majority of colleges and universities in Malaysia offer this program full time or part time. The diploma aims to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform basic accounting duties such as preparing management reports, financial statements, maintaining internal control systems and perform other basic accounting functions.

Duration and Fees

The Diploma of Accounting usually takes two and a half years to complete. Fees vary according to colleges typically in the range of RM20,000 to RM30,000 for the entire program.

The diploma can offer you good career prospect with in a wide range options, across diversified industries. Graduates can be employed in any business organisation as well as non-profit or government organisation. Some common job titles of accounting graduates are bookkeeper, account assistant, account officer, assistant auditor and assistant accountant.

Further Studies

Upon graduation, students may pursue the bachelor degree program in Accountancy, Finance or in other Business related courses.
Most universities in Malaysia offer diplomas that provide a streamlined pathway straight into the second year of the bachelor degree if students choose to enroll in a degree offered by the same university.

Entry Requirement

  • SPM – 3 credit (A, B or C)
  • UEC – 4 Bs in UEC including English
  • GCE ‘O’ level – 3 credits (A, B or C)
  • CSE & GCSE – 3 credits
